“Go beyond conventional ideas about rehabilitation.” That’s the inspiration of our sponsor, National Lutheran Communities & Services (NLCS). With headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, NLCS is a faith-based not-for-profit that serves people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Post-cardiac care, recovery after a fall, rebuilding strength and balance after a joint replacement: to NLCS, these aren’t just medical issues. They’re part of our ministry of caring and service to seniors.
NLCS draws from a long, successful history, starting in 1890. Its mission: “To fulfill its Christian ministry, National Lutheran Communities & Services provides an array of options for seniors including residential living along with home and health care services which are designed to meet individual needs.”
As a not-for-profit, NLCS exists to provide care, comfort and security, investing its earnings into ever-improving services.
Today, NLCS continues to meet the needs of seniors in its region. The National Lutheran family now includes The Legacy at North Augusta in Staunton, Va., The Village at Orchard Ridge in Winchester, Va., and coming soon, The Village at Crystal Spring in Annapolis, Md. (pending approval by the Maryland Department of Aging).
NLCS is affiliated with the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., Virginia and Delaware-Maryland Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
